Certified as CNA in NY State or interest in attending our CNA Training Program.
Certified Nursing Assistant Training Program:
This paid program is offered at the Geneva General Hospital campus. Each program runs 4 weeks with a total of 137 hours of classroom and clinical instruction. Weekly evaluations are completed and reviewed with each trainee to review their progress in meeting the program objectives, goals and learning the required resident care skills. 80% or better on daily quizzes and the final exam is required. Upon successful completion of the program, a NYS evaluator will test each trainee on clinical skills and a written test is required. Notification of the written test results is sent to the trainee in the mail from NYS. While awaiting the state test results, the trainee is able to work with a mentor on their assigned unit. This mentorship program pairs you up with an experienced CNA to make a smooth transition from "trainee" to CNA. Candidates must be at least 18 years old. Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in english is required.
The CNA Training Program is conducted on the day shift. Upon certification, you will move into the CNA position being held for you. All CNA's with Finger Lakes Health are required to the work one of the following: day/evening shift rotation, day/night shift rotation, straight evenings or straight nights. Every other weekend and holiday rotation is also required. Please indicate on your application which shifts you are available to work.
