Adventure and Outdoor Recreation Facilitator (Work-Study)

Keuka College - Keuka Park, NY

Work with adventure staff to create meaningful programming for a diverse and inclusive population. Assist in operating all adventure programs, challenge course, bike share, off campus trips, trail systems, as well as aid in the development of new programming. Duties will include planning, execution, and supervision of a variety of adventure events.

Essential Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and fun environment for participants, peers, and yourself.
• Plan and manage indoor/outdoor trips, team building programs, educational sessions, leadership programming, and other forms of adventure therapy.
• Assist the operations and development of The Birkett Mills Challenge Course, trail system, bike share program, camping equipment, and other outdoor recreation programs.
• Assist in program evaluation, tracking, and other necessary paperwork.
• Promote Campus Recreation programs to a diverse and inclusive population.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Eligible for a Federal work-study award (FCW) or a Keuka College work-study award (KWW)
• A current Keuka College student in the on-campus traditional undergraduate program
• Strong eye for detail
• Comfortable speaking in front of groups and engaging with people
• Good attitude, willingness to have fun, and work hard

Preferred Qualifications:

• Challenge Course Practitioner Level 1 Training, or equivalent
• Facilitation Basics
• First Aid/CPR
• Belaying

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift and carry at least 30 pounds
• Able to work on feet and maintain high activity for long periods of time
• Evening and weekend hours required
• Occasionally required to work in inclement weather
