Certified Shuttle Driver Part Time (Pool) Part-Time

Keuka College - Keuka Park, NY

The primary responsibility of the shuttle driver will be to transport students to and from destinations in the general Keuka Park/Penn Yan area for official business, medical appointments, recreation and entertainment. Drivers will also shuttle students to and from airports, bus and train stations, particularly around College Breaks, conduct regularly- scheduled town shuttles throughout the week, and assist with on-campus parking shuttles for special events sponsored by Keuka College.

Specific Responsibilities

• Provide safe and efficient transportation in accordance with Keuka College safety regulations and policies.
• Maintain valid NY State Class C Drivers License with Passenger Endorsement and a New York State medical examine certificate.
• Responsible for all driving assignments scheduled through Student Affairs. Any driver changes must be coordinated through Student Affairs.
• Responsible for picking up key boxes for van/sedan from Facilities. Key box for bus is maintained in the vehicle.
• Driver is responsible for proper completion of pre/post Inspection sheets and vehicle request forms. Inspection sheets and fuel receipts will be left in the key box for the bus. Inspection sheets, completed vehicle request sheets, and fuel receipts will remain in van or sedan key box and returned to Facilities.
• Conduct pre and post inspections of vehicles, clean bus after each trip and report any mechanical issues to Facilities and the Transportation Assistant.
• Inform passengers of rule infractions such as smoking or inappropriate behavior and the consequences for such behavior.
• Report any irregularities, such as security breaches, facility and safety hazards, and emergency situations to Campus Safety.
• In the event of an accident or passenger illness, contact the appropriate emergency agency and cooperate with responders.
• Maintain a professional and courteous attitude and appearance at all times towards co-workers, internal and external customers, representing Keuka College, its programs, policies and procedures in a positive and professional manner. Maintain effective working relationships to ensure institution-wide teamwork.
• Attend provided/necessary trainings and other meetings and committee assignments to support effectiveness within the position as required.
• Consistently demonstrate high standards of integrity by supporting the Keuka College mission, vision and values and adhering to institutional policies.
• Maintain high regard for student privacy in accordance with the FERPA privacy policies and procedures.
• Regular and reliable attendance is expected and required.
• Perform other functions as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Drivers must be a minimum of 21 years of age with no more than one (1) recordable violation in the past 3 year.
2. Must hold and maintain a valid New York State Class C driver’s license with passenger endorsement along with at least 3 years experience.
3. Driver must be flexible and willing to work weekdays, weekends and evenings when called upon.
4. Some evening hours and occasional weekends.
5. Sit, walk, talk or hear; use hands to finger, handle, feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
