Position Summary
The Account Executive – Technology (AE-Technology) is responsible for developing new relationships and penetrating existing Technology category sales in Strategic, Large and Mid-Market accounts within a geographic territory. The AE-Technology collaborates with Staples Strategic Account Leaders to achieve margin and revenue goals and builds selling relationships with clients that profitably grow Staples Technology category sales. The AE-Technology is the key point of contact and responsible to provide ongoing long term sales support processes for the technology category in their geographic market.
Primary Responsibilities
· Responsible for identifying and closing technology opportunities within the Staples Enterprise Account Base within an assigned region
· Works with Staples Enterprise and Staples Technology Solutions Sales Management teams to develop go to market strategies for technology hardware and services
· Proactively Identifies sales opportunities within existing accounts, and work with Staples Enterprise field Sales Force to provide ongoing hardware purchasing programs developed to meet specific customer needs
· Identifies, through extensive product knowledge, opportunities to increase gross margin through additional technology offering and market trends
· Maintains contact at the customer's senior management level. Provides consultative information to Staples Enterprise Customers, Prospects, as well as, Staples Enterprise sales force in product pricing and selection
· Sells value and innovative solutions beyond the core products to meet customers' unique buying needs and requirements
· Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with all key technology suppliers
· Works with key technology suppliers to attain the best costs available for Technology opportunities
· Provides on-going training support to the entire Staples Enterprise sales team on technology hardware products and services as required by management
Basic
· High School Degree or GED
· 4 plus years in outside sales of Technology Hardware and Services to SMB/Mid-market clients
· High understanding of Business to Business selling and Customer Processes for acquisition of products and services
· Strong Leadership skills
· Ability to articulate the Staples Technology value proposition
· Excellent presentation skills
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Ability to influence at highest level
· Expert knowledge of industry trends, competition, customer buying patterns and marketing techniques
· Demonstrated ability to build strategic partnerships across organizations
· Exceptional time management, prioritization and organizational skills

· Computer literate (Proficient with MS Office suite)
Preferred
· Bachelor's Degree
· Demonstrated sales plan success and quota achievement
· Extensive knowledge of Business Technology Hardware and Peripherals
· Technical expertise in both voice and data hardware and services
· Proven ability to sell in a multiple line selling organization
